DMV Spring Warm Up Recap - Part 1 (Underclassmen)

This past weekend 60 of the top programs in the Mid Atlantic came together to compete in some pre-season showcase action before the live period. Below are some of the top Fresh/Soph performers of the weekend which was presented by the St. James Entertainment and Wellness Center.

Rob Dockery; Team Loaded VA- Rob played 17u this weekend and showed his ability to score and defend. What was great to see was his advanced feel out of the screen and roll. Rob is a very unselfish player which bodes well for him going forward. The top underclass performer this weekend.

Del Jones; Team Durant - Del played 17u this weekend and was the most consistent performer for Team Durant this weekend. Always known as a scorer, Del has turned the corner as a facilitator and hit several big shots all weekend. He is making the transition from prospect to player. Look for Del to have a very strong EYBL season.

Jake Williams; DC Premier - Jake suited up for DCP’s 16u and knocked down what seemed like every shot he took. If history serves correct and repeats itself, he will have the same route as former program standout Cavan Reilly, not well known to start, big time at the end.

Brandin Cummings; Team Durant - The kid won the game for Durant 16u over Team Loaded in the best game of the weekend. I’ll keep it short and sweet… the kid is a stone cold killer and he knows it. After the win he stated “I’m that guy”. I can’t say he’s wrong after what I saw this weekend. Look to see his name a lot this summer.

Cam Horton; Team BBC - BBC played one game this past weekend vs a strong District Basketball Club 16u and was able to pull out the victory behind the strong game of Cam Horton. A superb scoring guard with decent feel and athleticism. Cam could be one of the diamonds in the rough that emerge this summer.

Cam Ward; Team Durant - Cam played 15u for Team Durant and was impressive all weekend. Coming into the weekend with a slight buzz due to his fantastic freshmen season at Largo HS, he left out with the most noise. The 6’5 wing scores, defends, facilitates, rebounds, and is a great teammate. A son of a coach he is a definite  HM prospect who will only get better over time.

Pat McDonough; District Basketball Club - I first noticed  Pat as a rising 8th grader and over time he has done the work to become a very solid point guard. Pat does everything you’d want out of a lead guard and rarely makes a bad decision. Not the biggest guard, but he doesn’t back down from anyone.

Jacob Wallace; We R 1 - Jacob was a bright spot for a We R 1’s 15u team this weekend who were coming together for the first time. Jacob was able to get in the paint with ease against Team Durant and orchestrated a major come back but fell short Sunday morning. Jacob has the attributes of a strong lead guard, calm, confident, unselfish and able to make every pass with either hand. Very good showing for the 2025 guard.

Other Underclassmen Standouts:

Emmanuel Okitondo; Team Durant

Troy Henderson; Team Loaded VA

DJ Dantzler; Cecil Kirk

Alex Johnson; District Basketball Club

Brendan Abel; DMV Stags
